Kumar Gaurav was the son of famous film actor Rajendra Kumar. He was born on 11 July 1960 in Lucknow. His father Rajendra Kumar and his family came to India from Pakistan at the time of India-Pakistan partition.
Kumar Gaurav’s career started with a superhit film. His first film, Love Story, was released in 1981. The film was directed by his father Rajendra Kumar. This love story proved to be a milestone for Kumar Gaurav. In this film, he played the role of Bunty. Even in real life, Kumar Gaurav was called Bunty at home. This was followed by his 1986 film Janam. Her performance in the film was also well received. For this film, he was nominated for Best A Cutter at the Filmfare Awards. The 80’s superhit star did not manage his success until the 90’s. Kumar Gaurav was compared to his father Rajendra Kumar but he could not surpass his father’s stardom. Kumar Gaurav took a long break in the 90s after giving consecutive flop films. Since then he has been anonymous from Bollywood. Kumar was not even remembered by the audience. She played Bollywood again in Deepa Mehta’s 1998 film Prithvi. He then starred in the 2000 film Kante. It was his last successful film but his attention was not drawn to it as it was a multistarrer.
In terms of personal life, Kumar Gaurav married Sanjay Dutt’s sister Namrata Dutt in 1984. Namrata is the daughter of Sunil Dutt and Nargis and the sister of Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt and Kumar Gaurav Nam and Kant worked together in the film. Kumar has two daughters with pride and humility. One is named Sachi and the other is named Sia. Sachin is married to Bilal Amrohi. Bilal Amrohi is the grandson of film director Kamal Amrohi.
