The verdict has come out. Thalapathy Vijay’s film master has got a solid start from the public. The film has grossed over 40 crores worldwide. As per trade reports, it has grossed over Rs 23 crore in Tamil Nadu. It has earned around three crore rupees in Karnataka and Kerala. In the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh belts, it has earned around Rs 4.5 crore, while in the rest of India it is around Rs 1.5 crore. Foreign collections are over four crore. The total collection is above Rs 40 crore.
It is good that we are in the midst of an epidemic. Master of Thalapathy Vijay was scheduled to release on 9 April 2020. But the coronavirus epidemic pushed the film. However, the producers were keen to release it in theaters and not on the OTT platform. Yesterday, actors like Kirti Suresh, Arjun Das and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj were watching the film in theaters. Although the reviews from critics are not great, the public has described it as an engaging entertainer. Vijay is the center of attraction between Sethupathi and Thalapati Vijay. The superstar had requested the CM to increase the seating area for the film. It is seen 100 percent in the state. Actor Simbu also requested for full domicile.
Meanwhile, a case was filed against the producer, Javier Britto. It seems that he played songs from Vijay’s other films at the audio launch without seeking permission. Some scenes were also leaked. Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagraj requested fans not to leak the scenes online. He posted a note on Twitter saying, “Dear all, it has been a long struggle of 1.5 years to bring the master to the U. We all hope that you will enjoy it in theaters. If U crosses the leaked clip from the film Come., Please don’t share it. Thanks everyone. Love you all. One more day and #Master is all yours. (Sic). ”
